Today's cushion cuts are a remarkable mix of brilliance, fire, scintillation and pure, unrestrained 'wow factor'. The modern cushion cut has been redesigned with a larger table and longer facets amplifing all of the light entering the diamond, dispersing it to every corner of the stone, and then sending it erupting back out the table (top) of the diamond with a display of light your friends will see from the other side of the room. There's a lot of technical stuff and math involved in making today's cushion cuts brighter and whiter than their Victorian namesakes, but we really don't need to go into that right now. Go have a look at a brilliant cushion cut diamond, and you will see for yourself why they are such a brilliant alternative to traditional round diamonds.
Did I mention they are also remarkably affordable?
